Jingam Bells!!!

I had an enjoyable trip to Bulacan this afternoon, but I still miss the old "rural" lifestyle we used to enjoy when we take our once-a-year trek to the province.

Txt Kta Kung Xmas

After three weeks of getting used to being electronically disconnected, I finally returned to Planet SMS when I finally received my X-mas gift from my Nanay. And yes (tentenenen!), it's a spanking new celfone - a Nokia model 1100 na ang sarap pindutin dahil ang lambot lambot. I still miss my old user-friendly 3310 unit, pero ok na rin ito, di gaanong komplikado gamitin. And guess what, my flashlight pa!!! LUFEEET!!!

Walang "Merry X-mas!!!" at "I love you!!!" Huhuhu...

On the other hand, yung Zsa-Zsa naman ay na-capture ang spirit ng Darna while creating its own identity as well. To borrow from the gay lingua franca, PANALO talaga si Zsa-Zsa. WINNER ka Carlo!!! Tumbling tayo!!!

Mas malaki pa yung space na inoccupy nung exhibit showing the disappointing Darna 2003 relaunch.

This book is a collection of short stories in komiks form discussing differnt concepts of "freedom" at different points in Philippine history. Big-time yung mga creators involved, with Gerry Alanguilan, Arnold Arre, Marco Dimaano, etc.

Dalawa yung talagang nagustuhan ko - JOLO 1913 by Dean Francis Alfar and Andrew Drilon, at yung NEGROS OCCIDENTAL 1978 by Honoel Ibardolaza. Kung may problema man yung libro, masyado lang siyang seryoso. It's trying too hard to prove its point na hindi lang pambata ang komiks. Guys, we get the picture. Lighten up...:)

Asteeeggg. Napaka-high falluting. Napaka-literary ng dating. Hayayayay, masaya na sana basahin yung SIGLO, pero dahil it's trying too hard to prove its legitimacy as a form of literature, medyo turn-off tuloy. Komiks ito mga kapatid. Wag kalimutan!!!

Grafiction. Grafix yon? Japeks yon!!! Yeah!!!

Maligayang Pasko! :)

Hail to the King!!!

well, it would still be a while before i have this blog up and running its normal course, but i just have to say this. i finally got to watch Return of the King, the third installment in Tolkien's epic trilogy, and Peter Jackson is truly one of the greats in moviemaking history.

with the Lord of the Rings, Jackson has brought back the epic feel and sense of wonder that have been missing from movies for such a long time. i can't wait to have the chance to watch the whole trilogy in one sitting.

the only thing i would have wanted from ROTK would be some more...deaths. :p i kept on waiting for pushover Frodo to finally bite the dust, but alas, we can not undo what Tolkien has done. :)

it's really sad that the magic is finally over. and i doubt that Jackson's LOTR will ever find its match in the coming years. oh, well...maybe if somebody would be crazy enough to do a 10-part Wheel of Time series. :)

Tuloy po kayo!!!

Magandang araw!!! Welcome to my new home in the web.
